I'm sure my life will be changed forever now that I have a Blog. I was inspired by my friend's at bikes and rec in Boise Idaho. I thought I would post a smattering of pics of the sort of projects I have been doing over the summer as well as some info on my shop and the work I like to do.
The chair in these photos is made of Cyprus with a linseed oil and beeswax finish. The seat and back are dutch cord. The weaving process is very physical, much more so than the actual construction of the chair. I was only able to weave for about three hours at a time.
The bar stool is quartersawn oak with a linseed oil and beeswax finish. It was inspired by skyskrapers and wabi sabi style. I destroyed three router gigs cutting the bevel in the top.
The coffee table I like to call Heavy-D (iy). It's in my living room been danced on several times. It's recycled beams mortised with a Skillsaw I made it the day before thanksgiving. In a five hour rush. Whats thanksgiving without a coffee table? I put a small bird inlay in one corner as a tribute to one of my favorite woodworkers, Paolo Samko.
